Baltimore Orioles Organization Overview

Young bats everywhere. No pitching to be found.

Baltimore Orioles Organization Review

Over the next three weeks, I will be publishing organization overviews for every MLB team. Each post will be a deep dive into all levels of the organization and picking out fantasy relevant nuggets. The primary focus will be at the MLB level and trying to uncover players I want to target in upcoming drafts, but I am playing in a few dynasty leagues and want to try to highlight some players to stash or keep an eye out for upcoming trades.

Picks For 2023

Players I like in fantasy drafts given their current price. All ADPs are from the last two months of NFC data.

Anthony Santander (ADP: 129.7) - Kris Bryant and Nick Castellanos are outfielders going at a similar area of the draft. Bryant is someone I really like at this price, but Santander is not that far behind. Cron, Stephenson, and Amed Rosario are also going around this pick and I like Santander better than all those options.

Grayson Rodriguez (ADP: 192) - Rodriguez was lights out in AAA last year and is ready to take the leap. At this price, Rodriguez can pay big dividends.

Fades For 2023

Players I don't love at current ADP.

Gunnar Henderson (ADP: 92.5) - Byron Buxton, Tim Anderson, and Vinnie Pasquatino are all going in the same spot of the draft, all offer similar upside to Henderson, and all have a more proven track record, albeit with some injury risk. If the hype cools and he slides another round, I might have more interest but not at pick 92.

Adley Rutschman (ADP: 60.4) - I don't like reaching for top catchers. Rutschman seems like a pretty safe option, but you can get Corey Seager, Shane Bieber or Julio Urias at the same spot of the draft.

MLB Breakout Player(s)

Players I like to outperform expectations

Austin Voth (ADP: 719.2) - Breakout is a stretch here, but I think Voth can find himself in the rotation this year and make a decent impact. I know this is a stretch, but the hype is pretty much out on all Baltimore options.

Favorite Prospects Outside Top 5

Prospects outside of MLB.com's Top 5 that I want to target in dynasty leagues.

Joey Ortiz - A middle infield prospect with great defensive chops, Ortiz is showing he has the bat to stick in the majors.

Drew Rom - A 22 year old who reached AAA and pitched well. He could find himself in the back-end of the Orioles rotation a year from now.

Connor Norby - A true 2B prospect who has the bat to support the profile, Norby had a great 2022 and should play most of 2023 at AAA.

Bullpen

Here is how I would rank the arms in the bullpen. This considers a mix of projected role and talent/likelihood of taking over the closers role.
